A young lady used to help her aunt care for her grandmother after the grandmother was released from the hospital. Her aunt would do most of the work, but she would help with small tasks like filling a basin with water or getting items that did not require her aunt's supervision. Little did she know that after graduating from high school, during her summer break, she would change her major from dentistry to nursing. To keep busy during the summer, she decided to take a class to become certified as a nurse assistant. While working in the nursing home, she realized that she loved working with seniors, and they seemed to draw a liking for her as well. She moved to Texas and started working in an independent living facility. She was the interim director, where she learned the backend of what happens on the other side of caregiving, but did not realize that this was preparing her to start her own private care company. After the independent living she gained experience in assisted living and in-home settings. When given the option to work independently, she decided to go for it. To her surprise, it grew into something that would bring her joy daily.
